High school ballplayers drafted in the 11'th round are generally longterm projects. Trevor McDonald RHP, the Giants 11'th round pick in 2019 is now 20 yo and pitching for Giants Orange in the Arizona Complex League. After pitching 5 shutout innings in his first start, he hit a rough patch over his next 3 starts allowing 11 runs in 10 IP. He seems to have gotten himself back on track over his last two starts with a combined line of 10 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 12 K's.
He's got a long way to go, but Trevor McDonald is a sleeper to keep an eye on in Down on the Farm.
Wow — Dogs are willing to give up their #'s 1 & 2 & 17 for Scherzer and Turner.
ReplyDeleteOne good Turn(er) deserves another.
Maybe FZ would give up Bart and Bishop for them, but, wow, so much of the future?
LA is playing for ALL, with a strong base, but time catches up.
They keep Turner for a second year, but Scherzer is open market. What's stopping SF from buying him — they have LOTS of $$ space.
Even making the playoffs is a crap shoot. Astros will be competitive in WS. Or TB. Or either Sox.
If LA avoids the WC, they sit well but with only 3 games left with SF, they need to win the division.
Brewers bring pitching which wins playoffs, the Dogs are spending a lot of the future for 2021.
I hope FZ makes it hard for them.
In response to the Dodgers fleecing the Nats,
ReplyDeletehow about Bart, Bishop, and Hjelle for Bryant, Kimbrel, and Hendricks?
We need another arm; hopefully Sanchez is good to go.
DeleteI vote no to selling the future!
Richard in Winnipeg.
Bryant for Canario and Killian ; I am good with that!
DeleteRichard in Winnipeg
Giants did well — RHB Bryant fills many holes, but can they beat the Dogs and Scherzer/Bueler in 1-game WC or, more likely, in a 5-game NLDS?
ReplyDeleteThat will be monumental.
Overlooked is the acquisition of Tony Watson — Giants picked up a good LH bullpen piece.
If their Ancient Warriors can play relatively free of the IL, the 60-game reprise to finish 2021 will be entertaining.
