Blogger's Note

Sorry team, I think I'm going to have to take a step back for a few days.  I'm back in a rut of feeling like I have to do this rather than doing it for fun.

In the meantime, I laughed out loud at the Pavs article about the verbal dustup between YtY and Cardinals pitcher, John Oveido.   Check it out!

  1. We appreciate your work whenever you’re up to it - but understand it can become a grind. Good game yesterday and are you watching what Jairo Pomares is doing?

  2. Thanks for your efforts Doc. Everyone who follows your Blog supports you making whatever adjustments are needed so you can enjoy yourself, I am sure.

Now, how about Jairo Pomares? Wow

  3. Thanks Doc for all you do! I've been amazed at how you can juggle your blog, family, and your regular job as a Doctor. Hope taking a step does you well!

  4. I will sorely miss your blog if you discontinue it, but I also can easily understand that doing it, and meeting your readers’ high expectations, might become burdensome. Writing it sporadically would probably mean a loss in readership; but have you thought about doing it, e.g., Wednesdays and Saturdays, so that readers will know when to anticipate a new entry but you will have a respite and a chance, perhaps, to collect material and look up data that you don’t have time, energy, or verve to look up now? You would be able to comment on the draft and personnel changes, and to take longer views, without being tied to a daily grind during the season. Readers could still offer opinions, and in fact, do so with a greater hope that other readers will see them, than is the case now, when one must assume that after Tuesday’s blog appears no one will go back to look at Monday’s reader comments, and so on. Whatever you decide, you will have grateful readers or grateful-but-rueful ex-readers.

    1. Thank you for the constructive suggestions. You have summed up the dilemma to a T. I'm considering options. I agree that readers need some certainty about a posting schedule or they drift away. I'll try to figure it out by the end of the All-Star break and let everybody know. I appreciate everybody who has stuck with the blog for all these years, and for those who have come on board more recently.

Get well, Doc, but listen to your doctor...

  7. Hope to see you back soon. Greetings from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Been reading the blog since 2010. Like you I became a Giants fan back in the day (1966) and No. 16, Jimmy Ray Hart (as he was announced over the PA) was a favorite of mine too). Be well. Best, KezarMike

  8. I'll still tune in for your commentary even if you don't post every day (15+ year reader of yours)

  9. What does the crowd think of Logan Webb's future with the Giants? I am thinking he may end up as a swing man/ spot starter. He had amazing stuff to start the year coming out of spring, but then stumbled a bit. Now he could be back in the rotation.

  10. Twice a week is an idea, but then that still means it could be a chore, and even have higher expectations since you are posting less.

Best idea: post when you think you have somwthing interesting to say.
