Game Wrap 6/3/2026: Giants 1 Brewers 0

Victor Bericoto's solo home run in the 5'th inning was all Logan Webb needed to record a Win.  Keaton Winn secures his first Save of the season.  Key Lines:

Victor Bericoto RF- 1 for 3, HR(1).  BA= .250.  Probably would have been an out in Oracle Park, but Bericoto showed off the opposite-field power we saw in spring training.  The Giants had 10 other baserunners in the game but this was the only one to end up scoring a run.

Logan Webb RHP- 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K's, 12/4 GO/AO.  ERA= 4.25.  Webb did not allow his first baserunner until the 6'th inning and did not allow his first hit until the 7'th in an ace-level performance.  Hopefully this is the corner he needed to turn.  Maybe the knee was bothering through the first month and good health will let him be the ace the rest of the season.  At age 29 and with two seasons left on his contract, if the season is lost at the trade deadline, do you move him for a prospect haul?

Keaton Winn RHP- 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 3/0 GO/AO, Save(1).  ERA= 2.30.  Winn earns his first Save of the season, 5-outs and a 1-0 lead no less.  Can we please give him a chance to establish himself in the role?

Adrian Houser RHP tries to gain a split of the series in an 11:10 AM PDT start facing Coleman Crow RHP who comes in with a 3.14 ERA in 3 MLB starts.

  1. Wonderful to get masterful pitching (with a near disaster provided by Miller) and the bases empty HR, but the Giants managed to get 9 other runners and not score any of them with at least 5 in scoring position.

  2. So is Bericoto supposed to be a prospect of note? I'd never even heard of him before he was called up. He's already done more for us than Encarnacion.

  3. I think you do move Logan Webb for prospects. By the time this team contends again he will be past his prime. The Giants avoided any serious rebuild during Farhan’s time and always held on to the miniscule chance that they could get into a wild card spot and make a run. Never happened. There were lost opportunities to trade for prospects then and the case for doing so this season is even more clear.

  4. I am open to trading Webb. No hurry, his contract is good through 2028 and not excessively expensive. Skubal may be available and may be a priority for teams looking for a short-term rental.
Ray and Arraez should be traded for whatever we can get.

    1. It might be a good idea to listen to offers for Logan Webb, but they don't have to trade him for the reasons you mentioned. Guessing Buster won't since they'll try to win next year. Maybe teams will ask about Keaton Winn, Buster got a nice haul trading Doval and Rogers
