Kilen goes 4 for 8 with 2 HR and 2 2B in two games. After Jacob Bresnahan's ERA hit a peak with a disaster start on 6/3, is ERA is 2.05 in 4 starts since. He's really found some traction in his last two starts allowing just 1 run in 12 IP with 2 BB and 17 K's.

ReplyDeleteThey should see what they can get for Bader, just getting out of paying him for 2027 would be worth it, he does have some value but his ineptitude this abbreviated year diminishes him, but he's a good defender at an almost reasonable payroll.
Well, maybe it's not reasonable: another bad signing.

Just wondering if Giants also need to make some decisions about how many of these minor league arms they're going to cast as starters at the MLB level as opposed to coming out of the pen. It seems like some of these rotation pieces in the minors are better suited to be relievers. That seems to be a consistent issue with the Giants' front office, doesn't it -- trying to force-feed the major league roster with pitchers who are better suited to be relievers than starters?
ReplyDeleteJust my opinion, but I see it as the mirror image. They have all these minor league pitchers who are better suited to be starters but due to needs at the MLB level, they get forced into reliever roles which they just don't have the kind of velocity for. IMO if the Giants want a homegrown bullpen they need to be looking high and low for pitchers who throw hundos, teach them a second pitch and voila! You have a bullpen.
