Bivens is mostly looking good as an RP in June, after a month not so good as an SP. Is he going to get another shot with SF this year?
100% he’s getting another shot at some point unless gets hurt or the wheels completely fall off.
DeleteRoch Chlowskty met with the White Sox, Ray's, and Giants at the recent MLB draft combine, per Sam Blum Athletic. This is the 2nd reported meeting between Roch and the Giants. I haven't seen a single mock draft with Roch dropping to the #4 pick for Giants to draft him. Makes ne wonder if Giants just doing due diligence or are they up to something. The Giants will draft a good player regardless., fun to speculate. I'm hoping they draft either Roch, Vaughan Lackey, or Grady Emerson if one of them falls to #4, if not I like Jackson Flora UCSB starting pitcher. While Jacob Lombard is a high ceiling prospect, hearing about concerns on his hit tool makes me wonder if the Giants could teach him how to hit.

DeleteThe hit tool concerns for Lombard stem and persist from his performance during the 2025 summer showcase circuit even though that is the only time he’s struggled to that extent. It’s conceivable he was worn out at that time (he starred in both baseball and soccer) and was trying too hard to impress (an evaluator described him as a people pleaser and was placing pressure on himself- dad was pro and bro is a top prospect). Diligent scouts and organizations will look at the prospect’s total package.
ReplyDeleteThanks that eases my concerns about Lombard. Lombard was brought up on a recent BA chat. I like that his father was a pro and brother a top Yankee prospect. Just read that Jackson Flora UCSB starting pitcher met with the Giants at the combine along with other teams picking #2 thru #8. This process must be so exciting for these kids! I hope Giants are getting Tony's input on these draft prospects. He's recruited and managed against a lot of these kids.
