I am taking a few days off to catch up with a college roommate and some other friends in the Denver area. I'll be attending my first Coor's Field game on Sunday wearing my trusty Matt Cain 43 shirt. I'll be back posting Tuesday evening June 2. Go Giants!

Sounds fun Doc! Enjoy your weekend in Denver. Go Giants!
ReplyDeleteBut, how will we survive? Will LG fill in? We need it!
DeleteHave a fun and safe trip doc.

Have a great time. Doc!
ReplyDeleteWell I’m certainly glad you didn’t go to the Friday night game!
ReplyDeleteAs the French say of the battle of Sedan, “think of it always, speak of it never.”
The Giants lost their first game in Colorado which made them 9-17 in May following April's 26 games when they went 11-15, in both cases 26 games.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that, with scoring 15 more runs in May, their record was 2 losses worse than April?
Pretty simple: in a like number of games (26), they allowed 24 more runs in May than April.
They also were shutout in April twice as many times as in May, but they still couldn't score enough to make up for giving up more than 5 runs per game (average) for the month, almost a full run per game given up in May than in April.
Good time to be away! This has not been the best of times to root for our guys. Colorado has not been a nice host!
ReplyDeleteHope you're home in time Tuesday to see the Giants face Kyle Harrison @ 4:40 PM!
Kinda hope Buster is there to see his "old guy" face his "new guy" — Harrison v Devers!
You went to a fantastic game! I've been to Coors once, its such a huge park compared to Oracle and it's nice too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you picked the right game. Perhaps you should tag along for the rest of the trip as a good-luck charm.
ReplyDeleteYou should take the rest of the year off and save your sanity..........
ReplyDeleteToday's game (Tuesday) is early, @ 3:40.
ReplyDeleteThe opening pitcher of the day is:
(Forever Giant?) Kyle Harrison, 6-1 with an 1.57 ERA.
He's even better in his last 7 starts: 5-0, 0.97 ERA, 37 IP
Whoddathunk!
Perhaps Trevor McDonald (2-2) can hold down the Brewer bats...
