Comments:  Djean Macares is a CF prospect who got a sizable bonus.  Miguel Caraballo is intriguing as he is a switch-hitting catcher who played the full season at age 16.  Yulian Barreto put up impressive batting numbers but is more limited defensively to 2B.

  1. Are the prospects randomly assigned to either the Black or Orange team or is there a hierarchy between the two teams in terms of prospect rankings?

    1. I think randomly assigned but I honestly don't know. Maybe players are matched up with managers/coaches who they have worked with or have expertise in skills the player needs to develop?

    2. An MLB team can move a player from one DSL team to another within the DSL, for example from the Giants Orange to the Giants Black, because these are both part of the same organization's minor league system. Moves between teams within the same farm system are common and are made for reasons such as player development, team needs, or performance.

Google: can a MLB team move a DSL player from one team to another within DSL, for example from the Giants Orange to the Giants Black?
