  1. Was kinda hoping you were at the SJ/RC game Doc. I know you're SoCal, and sometimes get to IE games, right? Anyway, 10th inning was fun to watch on MiLB TV.

Both San Jose and Rancho (Dodgers') lead their divisions. So far, Giants have won the first 5 of the six-game series.

    1. I went to two of the game in mid-May. Thought about going today but have been busy with family events.

  2. Any idea why Velasquez is still in AA?

    1. Velasquez has shown virtually no power and may be a subpar defender. Organizational priorities may play a role too. Lack of power is his most obvious weakness.

  3. Futility: top 7 batting slots for River Cats all got on base at least once (Meckler 3 times, as reported) but could not put together a single run!
Twice they had 2 runners and loaded the bases in the 9th to no avail.
They actually got back-to-back doubles in the 9th without scoring!

  4. Thomas Gavello has had a complete turn-around in AA from A, actually from his entire career with the Giants.
Is this just SSS (55 PAs), or could it be meaningful?

    1. It's possible Gavello finally found a key to hitting success but more likely sample size blip.

  5. For a team that’s struggling offensively. I think it’s time that Meckler got a call up.

  6. As Neil Sedaka said some 60+ years ago, "Breaking Up Is So Very Hard to Do" but the always dependable YtY hasn't homered since April and has this batting line in his last 32 games & 118 PAs: .190/.280/.238/.518, 3 RBIs, and he's Oh-for-June.
It's probably not something Buster is going to do. They played together in 2019 and 2021 and the POBO has a good memory.
