Down on the Farm: 6/25/2025

AAA:  Oklahloma City Comets destroyed the Sacramento River Cats 16-0.

Emmett Sheehan RHP(Comets)- 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 13 K's.  ERA= 2.93.  

River Cats managed just 2 hits in the game.  This was Emmett Sheehan's 5'th start in a rehab assignment after missing the 2024 season with TJ surgery.  Just a guess we'll see him in the Dodgers rotation sooner than later.

AA:  Richmond Flying Squirrels beat the Reading Fightin' Phils 6-4.

Diego Velasquez 2B- 2 for 3, 2 BB, SB(12).  BA= .288.
Victor Bericoto DH- 1 for 3, HR(5), BB.  BA= .238.
Justin Wiskoski 1B- 3 for 4, SB(10).  BA= .254.
Nick Sinacola RHP- 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 3.72.
Braxton Roxby RHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 1.24.

A+: Eugene Emeralds outscored the Everett Aquasox 9-4.

Jonah Cox CF- 2 for 4, 2 BB.  BA= .244.
Jack Payton LF- 2 for 4, HR(5), BB.  BA= .264.
Charlie Szykowny 1B- 3 for 6, 3B, HR(7).  BA= .241.

A:  San Jose Giants defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 6-1.

Maui Ahuna SS- 2 for 4.  BA= .228.
Walker Martin 3B- 1 for 2, 2 BB, SB(7).  BA= .229.
Jean Carlos Sio 2B- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .274.
Niko Mazza RHP- 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 1.98.
Ryan Slater RHP- 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 2.11.

The Giants complex teams were all idle.

  2. Zack Minasian was on KNBR this morning and clarified the Wade Meckler situation. They mentioned that he was one of the hardest workers and Wotus and Minasian had conversations and felt that 2B was another tool for him to add to his skill set. GMZM would not commit to bringing him up as a 2B but that its there if they need it and if the situation arises. The truth seems to be somewhere in the middle. He's not buried deep in the depth chart but he's not an automatic callup, either.

    1. OKC has a lot of Ex-MLB and AAA players. Cats did OK against the earlier in season in Oklahoma.

  4. I think Dakota Jordan was two 2Bs, not Triples...

    Kid is playing great though. What's his defensive profile - will he stick in CF?

  5. Why is Velasquez still in AA? 2B is not open in AAA, but they can open ABs, I think.
