If there is one prospect I think I may have too low on my Top 50 Giants Prospects list, it's Lisbel Diaz. Young for level contact hitter with emerging power. Might need to tone down aggression at the plate and needs to get more balls in the air, but he has 3 years of development before Rule 5 eligibility and is likely to play at A+ at age 19 so has plenty of time to work on these issues. His big test will come at AA where he probably won't play until 2026 but don't bet against him forcing a promotion this season. Highlight of 2024 season was a 5-hit game 8/25.
Thanks for all the great posts Doc If baseball was a drug and the offseason was going sober you would be a like a methadone clinic! Thanks for being there for us while we are jones’ing for our favorite pastime. Off topic comment but really hope Buster isn’t done yet. Gotta think he could pull off a trade and while I am doing mock fantasy baseball drafts I came across a guy in Boston named David Hamilton who plays middle infield and bats lefty. Has some work to improve but in a platoon role last year he stole over 30 bags and 8 bombs in under 300 AB’s. Boston has too many lefties in their lineup and this kid could be prime for a break out. We could use more depth at 2B. Really hoping Buster is exploring options like this…
ReplyDeleteInteresting player. I doubt Red Sox would trade him but definitely the type of player the Giants had more of.
