Alex Cobb RHP allowed just one run in 5 IP with great peripherals.....and took the loss. So, what else is new under the sun? I don't have the strength or interest to spend more time recapping this wretched game except to say that Cobb was moved up a day in the rotation because guess what? Carlos Rodon LHP, who was the scheduled SP conveniently fell ill and was placed on the IL a day after his agent, Scott Boras proclaimed he had passed his innings limit. That's right, his agent.
OK, I am officially over Carlos Rodon. It's one thing to call off sick when you really aren't and quite another when that puts your teammate's health in jeopardy who also has a career to worry about. There are other way to allocate his salary next season.
.....and these last two game should disabuse any notion that a winning streak against the Rockies and D'Backs means they are not such a bad team after all. They are a bad team!
ReplyDelete....0h! And Wil Myers hit another HR. Casual reminder he is a free agent after the season and should come pretty cheap. On the other hand, if the Giants sign him he won't be hitting against their pitching.
DeleteC. Rodon will never be a Willie Mac Award contender!
ReplyDeleteI'm not bothered by the Rodon shut down, he would pitch if the Giants were in it. It's just as risky for the team if he goes out and gets hurt and we are stuck with his salary during rehab. Cobb volunteered to move up
ReplyDeleteDoc I agree they finished with a 500 record which looks ok but based on what ownership and FZ has said to the press they know major roster additions need to be made. I don't think front office dropped the ball last off-season because they didn't want to break up a 107 win team, no excuse not to make major changes this off season.
