Game Wrap 9/2/2020: Rockies 9 Giants 6

The Giants offense built a 6-1 lead only to see the Rockies blow past it with a 5-spot in the 7'th inning.  Not exactly unheard of in Coors Field.  Key Lines:

Mike Yastrzemski RF- 3 for 5, HR(8).  BA= .298.  YtY now trails Fernando Tatis Jr in the face for NL MVP with 2.3 fWAR to Tatis Jr's 2.6, but YtY seems to be heating up for another run at the top.

Alex Dickerson LF- 2 for 5, 2B.  BA= .268.  Fourth multi-hit game in a row, 11 for 20 with 3 doubles and 4 HR's.

Joey Bart C- 1 for 4.  BA= .225.  4 for 9, all singles, in September.

Daniel Robertson SS- 2 for 3, BB.  BA= .600.  Recent add through The Churn, Robertson is a long time fave of the analytics gurus.  Intriguing combination of IF defense, plate discipline and power.  Has some control left on his contract, so could be a keeper.

Logan Webb RHP- 5.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 4.71.  Webb held the Rockies to 2 runs over 5 IP before faltering.  The Bullpen did not pick him up.

Bullpen- 2.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 2 K's.  Team effort here.  Jarlin Garcia allowed inherited runners to score.  Sam Coonrod did not record an out while giving up 3 runs. Tyler Rogers gave up 2.  The only shutout inning was the 8'th by Caleb Baragar, too little, too late.  Can't blame Kap for this.  Just poor execution and a little of the Coors Field effect.

The Loss dropped the Giants record to 18-20 and dropped them into 9'th place in the NL 0.5 games behind the Rockies.

The Giants get another day off today before starting a homestand over the weekend.  TBD gets the start Friday night facing Taylor Clarke RHP.
