Francisco Peguero(LF)- 2 for 5. BA= .319.

Heath Hembree(RHP)- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's, Save(31). ERA= 4.07.
Nice game from Brownie. He has those every once in awhile. Surkamp's string of QS's broken even though his K and BB numbers actually look better than in any of the QS's. Hembree seems to be back on track after a 1 game hiccup. Looking forward to some MLB innings in September to gauge whether he will be part of the mix for next year or not.
AA Harrisburg Senators beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-2:

Edwin Escobar(LHP)- 5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 2.67.
Tomlinson has come alive at the end of the season for Richmond, batting .346 over his last 10 games.

Is Myles Schroder in reach of .300? Derek Law!!
Low A Augusta Greenjackets stung the Asheville Tourists 4-3:

Hey team! Don't sleep on Chuckie Jones! He's had a solid second half and carried it through to the end. .275 BA in July. .290 BA in August.
Short Season Salem-Keizer Volcanoes outhit the Boise Hawks 10-6:
Brian Ragira(RF)- 3 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .265.
Sam Eberle(1B)- 2 for 4, 2 2B, BB. BA= .241.
Brandon Bednar(3B)- 3 for 4, HR(5), BB, SB(11). BA= .268.
John Polonius(SS)- 2 for 5, 2 3B. BA= .278.

Good to see Brian Ragira playing quite a bit of OF late in the season. Polonius is another name to add to the middle IF logjam in the lower minors.

SURKAMP actually had another great start for Fresno....3H 0BB 8Ks 2R/2HR through 7 innings before letting two runners on with 2 down in the top of the 8th..DUNNING relieved and served up a 3-run HR.....SURKAMP has earned 3-4 starts in Septmeber and it's in the Giants best interest ..Looking forward to seeing him up along with Pegs, Adrianza and maybe Dominguz..
ReplyDeleteESCOBAR with another decent start in another game where Rich's bullpen imploded...What a great year from Escobar across two leagues..Has to be one of the LH SP prospects in all of baseball now....
LAW with a dominating performance....And you gotta love players like DUFFY and SCHROEDER..
LUJAN just keeps on pitching well and winning down in Augusta...He might be more interesting in other organizations....Haven't seen GREGORIO in awhile, hope it's not a serious arm injury....
Recent draftee Escalante from Mt. Olive College has had a really nice year at S-K with little notice...
ANd last but not least, what great news about ARROYO and the MVP ...Totally deserved..He was statistically the best hitter in the league..And he showed more power as the year went along..Excited about this kid......But, Sabean and Barr completely missed on this one......! Ditto with Ryder Jones and the other ALL stars...

Law's work is also across two leagues, I believe.
ReplyDeleteWould they play him in the AFL?
Perhaps some will say 'I knew he was good all along,' but for others, this is Law's breakout year, among many outstanding/breakout years by Giants prospects.
I agree, BLS, The Lawman is awesome- works quickly and confidently. Next season at Richmond will be an interesting one for him.
