Bloggers Note

Hey team!  I will be offline over the weekend until at least Sunday evening. Go Giants!

  1. The Giants have played 14 games when the opponent has scored 4 or more runs.
They have won only one of them.

They have won 12 of 13 when they gave up 3 or fewer runs, losing a 2-1 game to Tampa Bay.

  2. Never have seen a home official scorer award the first hit when the fielder fumbled the ball, recovered, then almost threw the batter out.
No matter how good the stop, the transfer is straight forward, and it isn't the first hit of the game.
This is not the first bad call by the Giants' official scorer, and this one may not be consequential by the 8th inning, but the first hit is never, or hardly ever, awarded on a questionable 3rd inning bobble.
A clean hit in the 4th dismissed the Chapman favored call.
    Pffft

  3. Isn't there something in Lineups 101 that states unequivocally that you don't lead off with your worst hitter?
