The Richmond Flyhing Squirrels edged out the Akron Rubber Ducks 1-0 to take a 2-1 lead in their Eastern League playoff series:
Kelby Tomlinson(SS)- 3 for 4, 3B.
Ty Blach(LHP)- 6.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.
Tomlinson leads the way again and Blach has a strong start. Chris Stratton is the scheduled starter today.

YTD, KT has 49 steals… Gary Brown has 36. Imagine those two jack-rabbits on the same team, which might resemble the Whitey Herzog Cardinal teams, among my favorite teams from the 80's.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how either one translates to the majors, especially Brown with all those CS's.
DeleteBrown this year stole 36 bases and got caught 20 times. The break even point is ca. 73-74%. He cost his team plenty as a poor jackrabbit.
DeleteTomlinson, OTH, was over 80% successful this past year. He contributed well that way, but also showed progress as a base stealer over previous years.
