Game Wrap 6/7/2016: Red Sox 5 Giants 3
With Buster Posey a late scratch from the lineup due to a nerve irritation in his thumb, the Giants were without their 2 best hitters. Albert Suarez had a QS and Jarrett Parker homered but the Bosox scored an unearned run to tie in the 7'th and went on to win in extra innings. Key Lines:
Jarrett Parker- 2 for 4, HR(3). BA= .233. Parker's second dinger in as many days. We know he can hit them in bunches.
Albert Suarez- 6.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, GO/AO= 13/3. ERA= 3.09. Suarez was a groundball machine in this one and might have won had catcher Trevor Brown not thrown the ball away on a SB by Jackie Bradley which allowed Bradley to get to 3B with one out from where he scored on a groundout.
Santiago Casilla- 1.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 2.74. Bochy tried to get 2 innings out of Casilla and Casilla wasn't up to it giving up the winning runs in the 10'th inning.
*********************************************************************************
The Dodgers topped the Rockies 4-3 to cut the Giants lead in the NL West to 3 games.
*********************************************************************************
Madison Bumgarner faces David Price in a marquee matchup tonight trying to win a split for the Giants in this 2 game interleague series. The Giants will likely again be without Buster Posey in the lineup.

DSL Giants crushed the Rojos 9-1:
Jose Rivero SS(18 yo, B-L, T-R, 5'11", 160 lbs, Venezuela)- 2 for 4, BB, SB(1). BA= .250.
Ricardo Genovese 1B(17 yo, B-R, T-R, 6'2", 180 lbs, Venezuela)- 4 for 5, 2B. BA= .444.

Ismael Munguia LF(17 yo, B-L, T-L, 5'10", 170 lbs, Nicaragua)- 2 for 4, SB(1). BA= .500.
Jose Marte RHP(19 yo, 6'3", 180 lbs, DR)- 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K's. ERA= 2.25.
Marco Gonzalez LHP(18 yo, 6'1", 180 lbs, Venezuela)- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Oliver Pinto RHP(19 yo, 6'0", 175 lbs, Panama)- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Jasier Hernandez RHP(18 yo, 6'5', 190 lbs., Colombia)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Genovese got the Giants second highest bonus payout in the 2015 cycle at $550 K. He was signed as a catcher and caught the first game but plays 1B here. I am impressed by how many different Latin American countries are represented in this boxscore. The Giants are obviously working hard in several other countries besides just the DR.

Game Wrap 6/5/2016: Cardinals 6 Giants 3
Once again, the Giants lost an early lead, this time it wasn't a hailstorm of dingers, but a slow drip akin to water torture. Key Lines:
Jarrett Parker- 1 for 3, HR(2). BA= .205. Parker must have read our comments about him today. He's streaky. Hopefully this is the start of something.
Jake Peavy- 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 6.41. Peavy sailed into the 6'th inning with a 3-1 lead. He gave up back-to-back doubles then a BB. He demonstrably did not want to come out when Bochy got him, which may have been well-founded given the current state of the bullpen. Hunter Strickland hit the next batter to load the bases. Javier Lopez came in to face the LH hitting Matt Adams and once again could not get the lefty batter out as Adams singled in a run. Cory Gearrin came in and got a groundball but Brandon Crawford made a rare error and another run scored. A groundout brought home another run before Gearrin finally got out of it with a GIDP. Damage done.
*********************************************************************************
The Giants complete the loooong roadie with a 5-5 record. The Dodgers beat the Braves again to cut the Giants lead in the NL West to 3.5 games.
*********************************************************************************
The Giants get a day off after returning home before a 2 game interleague series against the BoSox with Albert Suarez facing Rick Porcello on Tuesday night.

Game Wrap 6/4/2016: Cardinals 6 Giants 4
A 4-0 Giants lead disappeared in a hail of dingers off Jeff Samardzija and they didn't get it back. Key Lines:
Joe Panik- 2 for 4, 2 2B. BA= .251. Panik is 5 for 14 over his last 3 games and his hitting .293 over his last 15.
Brandon Crawford- 2 for 4, 2B, 3B. BA= .272. Crawford is 6 for 11 in his last 3 games. He is hitting .391 over his last 7 games, .314 over his last 15 and .287 over his last 30. Baggs said Crawford's double should have been a single and his triple should have been a double. In other words, Crawford is really, really good at taking the extra base when he can.
Jeff Samardzija- 5 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 0 BB, 2 K's, 4 HR, GO/AO= 8/3. ERA= 3.33. Samardzija was cruising with a 4-0 lead when the longball came back to bite him with a vengeance. It's always been his Achilles Heel and the Cardinals are really good at hitting them. Hopefully this is a 1 game blip.
*********************************************************************************
The Loss narrowed the Giants lead in the NL West to 4.5 games over the Dodgers who blanked the Braves 4-0 behind Clayton Kershaw.

Jake Peavy draws the Getaway Day start tomorrow against Carlos Martinez.
