I'm excited because Opening Day game is a night game. They are almost always day games and I forget to take a vacation day so miss the game due to work. I get to watch this one! With that, I offer some burning questions for Giants fans for the 2021 season.
Is Kevin Gausman RHP an ace?
Will Logan Webb RHP break out?
Is Buster Posey C done?
Do the Giants have enough depth at shortstop?
Will the lineup(s) continue to hit like they did last year?
Can the Giants finish in third place in the NL West and still make the playoffs?
Can the Gants coaching staff work their magic again and revive the careers of Anthony DeSclafani RHP and Aaron Sanchez RHP?
Does Heliot Ramos OF or Joey Bart C have a chance to win ROY?
Can we get enough people vaccinated in time to avoid the "Fourth Wave" of COVID and finally get back to close to normal attendance at ballparks?
What is your burning question for the Giants in 2021?
What is their plan to get thru the season pitching wise due to covid shorten 2020? 6 man rotation? Innings limits for their starters? Im excited for a 162 game season!
ReplyDeleteGuessing we'll see a lot of traffic between Sacramento and SF. Stockpile pitchers with options.
DeleteMariners are going with 6 SP's but then that leaves the bullpen short.
DeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteYes.
Kinda?
Should be fine with Maricio Dubon as backup, IMO.
Yes, yes they friggin will.
Probably not, but I also don't know how they stack up against the likely 2nd place teams in the NL.
I have a feeling BOTH DeScalfini and A Sanchez will have major impacts on the team/bullpen, but not until the 2nd quarter of the season.
Nah, Heliot Ramos' year is next year, as good as he is. He's have to blow the door right off the hinges to get into the majors early enough in the season this year.
Though Americans are exceedingly hard headed and stubborn, and non-community oriented, we're getting enough vaccine into the public to make that major major impact.
Q: Will Slater end up the regular in right, hitting in the 3-spot, by the end of the season?
Why would Slater end up in right? Yaz didn't do much these first 2 games, but he has a longer record of hitting well than Slater. More likely, Slater starts in CF rather than Dubon.
DeleteAnother Question:
ReplyDeleteCan the Giants with this team, beat the Dodgers and the Padres head-to-head.
I think they can, though I think the Dodgers and Padres crush the rest of the teams so regularly that we won't be able to catch up in the standings.
So, Q: How will the Giants match up with the Dodgers and the Padres directly?
The shortstop depth question is interesting. Overlaps 3B depth question. And relates to pitching confidence--if pitchers feel ground balls are dangerous, they'll have bad results. Right now, Dubon may be the only competent fielder on the left side of infield. LaStella played some third in Spring. We'll see if he gets any play now.
