I could see Reynoso and Jenkins moving up to SJ after the draft. Argenis Cayama really looks like a significant pitching prospect.

Evan Estevez played all last season at age 16 so is playing this year at age 17 with a year of pro experience, which is a good thing except it can come back to bite down the road with Rule 5 Draft rules.
Eldridge drove in 2 runs with that single. Am enjoying watching him take apart AAA pitching. My only complaint is the inordinate amount of strikeouts. If he can get those under control, he might be ready. Probably take a month or two.
ReplyDeleteThat's a large strike zone to cover.
DeleteProbably the only advantage being short has in sports: a smaller strike zone for shortness!
DeleteIs that fair?
Would it be "more fair" if strikes had to be in a certain size up-and-down zone, like it is defined left-and-right by the size of the plate?
Would that really give tall players an advantage? Why shouldn't the zone be the same for everyone?
Eldrige isn't coming up unless the season is lost. 2026 is more realistic.
DeleteRickey Henderson built a Hall of Fame career out of crouching way down to make his strike zone smaller.
DeleteI’d love to see Bonds, who was incredibly short and quick to the ball, work with Eldridge.
DeleteMcCray was 3 for 5, 2b, 3b, 2 RBIs.
ReplyDeleteRiver Cats have come alive taking 3 of 4 from Sugar Land in Houston suburbs with infusion from Eldridge, Matos, and Meckler.
With 5 wins in 7 games, Sacramento has moved within 1 game of .500, leaving just one other of SF's 7 minor league teams with a losing record. Only Richmond is in really bad shape and in need of Divine Intervention.
I think McCray's 3 for 5 was on Thursday but yes, he's been hitting better.
DeleteOops, yes, McCray's big game was Thursday, ;<(
DeleteI should have known better because YOU wouldn't have left him out!
Wow, did the Giants ever dodge a bullet not signing Corbin Burnes. Lucky thing that his Almighty Agent coaxed a crazy $210 million contract out of AZ, so SF wins twice!
Was it Buster's acuity or Ownership nixing it?
