River Cats game was interesting: Birdsong started well but wore down rather quickly, and his replacement, Joel Peguero, didn't help allowing the inherited runner to score on an HR in the mile-high altitude.
ReplyDeleteCats chipped away at the lead to get within a run in the top of the 8th, but Ryan Watson gave up a 4-spot and Sacramento was doomed.
Eldridge might hit 70 HRs if his home field was in Albuquerque! Or Colorado.
Is 17th rounder Cavenaugh for real?
ReplyDeleteWe'll probably find out when he gets promoted to AA but when I saw him play for the SJ Giants early in the season he looked like the best hitter on that team, by far. Of course he was on the older side for that league.
DeleteHey Doc. For an upcoming post, do you know what has happened to Carlos Gutierrez, OF from San Jose? It's been a long time and I did not see anything about how or whether he's suffered a major injury or not. Any word?
ReplyDeleteHe's on the IL. Not sure how I got this impression but I think it's a dreaded hammy. Jose Ortiz who suffered a bad hammy injury early in the season came back for a few games then disappeared from the lineup again. Not good.
