  1. Great to see Eldridge hitting bombs allover the place. I'm excited at the thought of seeing him in SF one day, but rather see him continue to get his reps in AAA in 2025. He's having a good year in AAA with 12 homers, but a 252 BA and 27 % k rate makes me wonder if he'll be schooled by MLB pitching.. The Royals had a top 1st base prospect Jac Cacgleone who was ranked higher then Eldridge who they called up a few weeks ago and his BA is 150. I hope the Giants stay patient with Eldridge for as long as they can

    1. Eldridge is only 20 and hasn't even had 1000 plate appearances yet in the minors, so he's 5+ years younger than the majority of pitchers he faces in AAA. There is plenty of time to take it slow and allow his contact rates to improve, as it appears he has plenty of power to all fields to not sacrifice HR pop for contact. Many power-centric hitters take a bit longer than pure contact hitters to develop anyway. It also sounds like he's a work in progress at 1B, and, no matter how good a hitter he is, it would be a faceplant to bring him to the bigs only to have him struggle to play 1B of all positions.

Long story short: he's a phenomenal (not generational) prospect with some warts that can be worked out, and we should be realistic with our expectations. Let him finish strong in AAA this year, start there again next season, and prove he's ready for a call-up next Summer in his age-21 season, which is still way ahead of many great prospects' timelines.

    2. It's worth pointing out that Bryce Eldritch is only 20 years old. Today. Lol it's crazy with what that guy looks like physically and what he's doing in the PCL right now, after owning AA pitchers earlier in 2025.

But I think the posters here on Doc's site, including the OP above, have brought up good points about Eldritch's future transition to the Show. He is 6'7 with a gargantuan strike zone and he's prone to the K.

In a perfect world, he finishes the PCL season and tries to bring his BA closer to his .280 - .290 avg career range, then gets a cup of coffee when roosters expand.
      (lol autocorrect!! ..gonna leave it)

The question is, can Posey be patient enough to let Bryce prove a high BA with controlled K% next year with a final round of AAA at bats??

  2. Choate always seemed like a bullpen arm. Giants probably just want to get him use to the bullpen as they made need additional left handed pitching next year clearly.

  3. The OFers promoted to AA have been very impressive so far. Yes, SSS, yet very promising, especially after a mid-year promotion.
