I read that it's snowing above 5000 ft elevation in Oregon.  A winter storm on the first official day of summer.

DSL:  Arizona Black outscored Giants Orange 9-8(8 innings).

A bit unusual to score 8 runs and have no outstanding batting lines, but there you have it. Nothing to see here.

DSL:  Angels beat Giants Black 6-3.

Ricardo Crespo RF(18 yo)- 2 for 3, Sac, SB(1).  BA= .286.

  1. McRay is increasingly looking like next year‘s right fielder in Oracle. If he can maintain a batting average around that level at MLB…

    1. No matter how well McCray hits in AAA and no matter when they bring him up, there is almost always an adjustment period at the beginning. The Giants must decide if McCray is their future guy in RF and if so be prepared to go through that adjustment. Then the question becomes, how long is the adjustment and how much patience can they afford to have with the adjustment. McCray has the tools to be a star MLB player but that last hurdle is always the hardest one.

  2. I still believe Matos can figure things out like Ramos eventually did- a platoon with McCray would seem like a reasonable way to start and perhaps one of them seizes the everyday job sometime down the road

  3. I think you give McCray and Matos a chance next year. Yaz is 35. I would not resign him next year.
