"When the Giants Come to Town..." is my blog intended to chronicle my thoughts on San Francisco Giants baseball. My special interest is in prospects and the farm system, but of course, will comment on all aspects of the San Francisco Giants. I will also comment on baseball in general, particularly from a fantasy baseball perspective. I hope you will find the site informative, and invite you to join in the discussion.

Hot Stove League Review: Indians
A once fearsome pitching rotation has thinned out a lot due to injuries and trades, but the Indians still have a potent lineup to provide run support to what's left. Key Moves:
Free Agents Lost: Cody Anderson(RHP), AJ Cole(RHP), Tyler Olson(LHP), Danny Salazar(RHP), Mitchell Talbot(RHP), Jon Edwards(RHP), Kevin Plawecki(C).
Free Agents Signed: James Hoyt(RHP- re-signed after non-tender), Cesar Hernandez(2B), Domingo Santana(OF).
Trades: Acquired Sandy Leon(C) from the Red Sox for Adenys Bautista(RHP), Acquired Emmanuel Clase(RHP) and Delino DeShields(OF) from the Rangers for Cory Kluber(RHP).
Retired: Adam Rosales(IF).
Suspended: Emmanuel Clase(RHP).
Minor League Free Agents: Beau Taylor(C), Dominic Leone(RHP), Cameron Rupp(C), Zack Weiss(RHP).
Summary: First, the Indians got what many fans thought was a light return for Cory Kluber, then the guy who was supposed to be the electric arm in the bullpen gets slapped with a suspension. Not a great look! Indians still have a lineup that can compete. Probably should have been more aggressive on the pitching side. I do like Domingo Santana's ceiling if he can ever get his K's down.
Grade C.
