As if we have not witnessed enough rainfall of biblical proportions, the Giants were swamped by a veritable deluge of dingers in the Windy City. Key Lines:
Nick Hundley C- 1 for 4, HR(8). BA= .257. If the Giants are serious about contending next season, they might want to do what's necessary to hang onto Nick Hundley.
Jeff Samardzija RHP- 5.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 1 BB, 6 K's, 4 HR. ERA= 4.47. Welp. I guess we got a firsthand look at why Shark did not dig pitching his home games in Comiskey....er US Cellular...er whatever they call it now.
Josh Osich LHP- 0.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 2 HR. ERA= 6.75. Josh Osich is an enigma to say the least. His stuff looks great but he just is not getting hitters out. This might be rock bottom for him. I understand these games don't mean a thing, but major league games are probably not where Osich needs to be working out whatever is wrong with his game right now.
Roberto Gomez RHP- 2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 11.57. Well, he didn't allow any dingers and the K/BB looks good.

Madison Bumgarner tries for a series win tomorrow facing former White Sox first round draft pick Carson Fulmer who has been pitching out of the bullpen.
When that first deep fly ball was caught on the warning track, I thought 'uh oh.' When the next one went over Pence's head for a HR I thought it's going to be a bad day for the Shark.
ReplyDeleteThe White Sox are 30 games under .500. They outhit the Giants 31-8 and outscored them 21-2 over the weekend. - Baggs
