"When the Giants Come to Town..." is my blog intended to chronicle my thoughts on San Francisco Giants baseball. My special interest is in prospects and the farm system, but of course, will comment on all aspects of the San Francisco Giants. I will also comment on baseball in general, particularly from a fantasy baseball perspective. I hope you will find the site informative, and invite you to join in the discussion.

AFL Report 10/12/2012
Scottsdale Scorpions blanked the Salt River Rafters 4-0:
With Mijares and Runzler, do you think we resign Affeldt or do we try to save some money to use toward OF? Also, given how dominant Hembree was early (and it seems like his problem was more injury), do you think they'll bring him up next year? If he could take over the closer spot, and move Romo and Casilla down one inning (ie, 8th and 9th), we'd have a dominate pen again.
I agree with DrB and Shankbone, I don't see how they don't resign him, both Mijares and Runzler are not proven, though promising. I do expect both of them to battle for a spot on the roster for 2013.
The question to me is: could the Giants carry 4 LHP on the roster? And that's without considering whether Wilson might be well enough to make the roster.

I think the Giants will most likely re-sign Affeldt.
DeleteI bet they re-sign Affeldt, and I bet its a 2 year deal.

Any info on how hard Hembree is throwing? Pre-injury velocity?
ReplyDeleteNope, no info on Hembree's velocity.
