Josuar at 2b? I usually see Luis slide over to 3b
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that the Giants have a better low minors cast (and maybe through AA) than the Always Better Club down South we detest?
ReplyDeleteHave to agree that, although the pitching is a little light in comparison, the Giants positional players AA and below has to be up there with the best in MLB. Hopefully Tugboat and the upcoming draft helps the pitching side.

Exactly half of Doc's Top 42 are pitchers .
Delete2026 team pitching stats are in the middle: the pitchers are not losing the games.
They are #1 in MLB in GO/AO -- maybe they need better infielders?
Yes, but there is a top tier of 6 players who are all hitters. Maaaybe Keyner Martinez and Jacob Bresnahan sneak into the top tier at 7 and 8. So I would say the Giants have good organizational pitching depth but it's a bit light on top. Good argument for drafting Jackson Flora at #4 overall.
DeleteWhen I watched Tugboat mow down team USA. It made ne think he has a shot at making MLB. Deceptive delivery and good movement on his pitches gives him a good chance. While I'd be happy if they draft HS SS Jacob Lombard, ill be disappointed if they pass on RHP Jackson Flora who throws in the high 90's.and starts.games. is drafting or acquiring high end pitching talent a priority?
DeleteThere’s chatter that the Giants could try to work Cholowksy down to #4, which is conceivable given the three teams ahead of them are not known to open their wallets readily. Buster of all people would be familiar with this ploy. If they can get Cholowsky at #4 that’s a no brainer. But if the draft plays out as expected we are probably looking at a choice between Flora and Lombard, which leaves me really conflicted. I believe it will all come down to how the strike out averse FO views Lombard’s hit tool potential. If they believe in Lombard’s bat, with all else being equal between the players, I say go for the hitter since pitchers are inherently more breakable.
DeleteThis draft is gonna be fun. We'll se e what happens. Thought about it, not sure if choliwsky has the leverage to hold out being a college junior if a team he doesn't want to play for picks him. Maybe Emerson the high school Shortstop would have more leverage, if he chooses to holdout? As Doc pointed out they could use the extra # to sign a high school player in the later rounds to an overslot deal. Lot of ways they could go.
DeleteI would like Susac - Cavanaugh catching future
ReplyDeleteI could see Tugboat getting a shot with us by the end of the year and becoming a part of the teams bullpen at minimum by next year. Maybe he will get a shot at closer and we will have a big bodied lefty closer named Tugboat.
