  1. Good to see Whitman pitch a couple of good games, we can use some pitching help.

I would be happy if the Giants were able to pick Flores with the number four pick. If Flores, Emerson and Cholowski are off the board by then, what is your preference?

I like Lombard. I think he could be an outstanding CF. Get some hs pitchers with overslot money later.

    1. Lombard is growing on me. I saw of photo of him in his batting stance. Dude's a monster!

  2. Yes, some of the reports on Lombard’s lack of the hit tool are scary but writers often recycle other writers’ material and what really counts is what the Giants scouts are seeing right now. This draft seems really deep in the second tier of prep and college pitchers (Flora is in a tier of his own) so if they have a chance to pick up the player with potentially the most upside of anyone in the draft they should jump on it.

  3. IMHO, I think I would rank this class as Cholowski/Emerson/Lackey/Flora/Lombard. Lombard looks like he has high upside potential, but there is also a high bust potential. And we already have Hernandez, Level, Gonzalez and Kilen in the system. We need to look at other needs outside of middle infielders.
