  1. Can we start talking about Cox a little? Son of former major leaguer Atlanta Brave Darron Cox, 6th round pick from the A’s who we got via trade before his first full pro season. 58 stolen bases in under 400 at bats his first season and 58 stolen bases last season over 500 at bats. I remember his first season he was on base to reach 100 stolen bases for a while but obviously slowed down his base stealing significantly the second half of the season to end up with only 58. This season 15 stolen bases in 60 something at bats while hitting nearly .400 (obviously unsustainable for anyone). First pro season I remember he actually as hitting close to .300 for a while. Last year he struggled more. Dude can take a walk at a decent clip, also has a little bit of pop. Obviously it’s unlikely he’s gonna turn into an MLB regular but he’s only 24 and he’s got blazing speed. If he has a great year this year and doesn’t hit the AA wall while showing improvement, does he got a shot to get at bats in the mlb in future seasons?

  2. Report from Visalia: It was a nice evening at Recreation Park. Cayama was sitting at 93 MPH with his fastball. A few times he hit 94 MPH. He struck out the side in the 5th inning. By the sixth inning he was hitting 91 MPH. He also had effective off-speed pitches at 82 - 84 MPH. He gave a single in the first inning and no Visalia runner reached base after that until the 6th inning. After hitting a batter in the 6th, the next batter hit a shot to right field. Jung Hoo Lee would have caught it, but Damian Bravo missed it, leaving a runner at second and a run in. Cayama was taken out of the game with a runner on second and two outs. Perez got the first batter he faced to hit a high pop up in foul ground behind third base. Reynoso over ran it and missed the catch. With a second chance, the batter got a hit and drove in the second run attributed to Cayama. Overall Cayama pitched really well. The Little Giants were leading 11 - 2 going into the bottom of the 7th, and then the bullpen tried to give the game away. It got to 11 - 10 and then both teams scored two runs in the 9th.
All the Little Giants had their hitting shoes on. Reynoso's home run was a no-doubt shot to left field. Maldonado's hit was an infield single in which he used his speed to beat the throw to first. The homerun Rogers hit was a shot to right. Rogers also had a nice throw to second to get a runner attempting to steal. Level just keeps getting hits and playing the field well. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a promotion to Eugene in the near future. APGiantsfan

  3. Appreciate the info!

Curious as to Level's stature. I think he's listed at 5'8". I've seen him a couple of times on streaming games, and he seems pretty diminutive compared to other players at this level. I'll keep thinkin' Altuve, but I wonder about smaller guys competing at the MLB level, the land of giants. LOL.
