Then over a roughly 3 week period, he pitched one relief outing, then was struggling to pitch deep into games after four straight games of 7.0 IP. Then he missed another 3 week period after the July 21st game.

I would give him a break. It's his first professional season, pitching so deep into the summer. He had what looked like two bad enough injuries to keep him out in two separate three week periods. I don't know what he was out injured with, but maybe the team took it easy on him afterward, treating them like rehab games, since he was out so long both times.

And it was not like he didn't pitch well enough after his first long shutdown in June. He did walk a ton, 18 in 23.0 IP, but only 14 hits plus 21 K's. And a 2.35 ERA, .593 OPS.

Of course, some of the chatter when he was drafted was that he is a future reliever because of his lack of size, so there is that as well, but I think he did pretty well as a starter, enough that I would keep him going on that track, he still ended up with a good 2.53 K/BB and 10.7 K/9.obsessivegiantscompulsivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11362706004246875823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-7573986272056492462013-09-05T17:04:04.052-07:002013-09-05T17:04:04.052-07:00Maybe Agosta's future is in the bullpen?Maybe Agosta's future is in the bullpen?DrBGiantsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699322384438591979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-66760976756112097292013-09-05T11:07:00.022-07:002013-09-05T11:07:00.022-07:00Man, other than the AZL squad, the rest of these g...Man, other than the AZL squad, the rest of these guys have had a rough go of the postseason. Hopefully SJ changes that. What do you make of Agosta's second half? The injuries definitely took their toll, but he didn't seem strong enough to make it 5 innings down the stretch. I do know that 3 of those 6 ER were allowed to score by Okert, but still not a good outing for Agosta.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
