I think he was hurt ...I think Panda isn't bad. I think he was hurt and he's not mature enough to address it the right way. Not saying I agree with the statements, but I just don't want to vilify the guy. I think notably he walked back the comments about the other players, and seemed to suggest his favorites were Pence and Bochy not he didn't like all of them. I'm sure that didn't play well with some (like Crawford, who said "that's Panda being Panda"), but it seemed to suggest that Panda realized he may have taken it a bit too far. If he wants to direct his anger at the Giants FO that is certainly his right (and certainly, I can't say I blame them given the lack of maturity he showed generally about his weight and then specifically after the fact). At some level, I just wish him the best, he's on a great team that might in fact win it all and we just need to focus on finding the next guy. Too much has spent on this one (IMO)PiLamBearnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-84477747104802569852015-03-26T13:21:33.941-07:002015-03-26T13:21:33.941-07:00Yeah, I read that article. The one year he was in great shape, he showed everyone that he could be a truly great 3B -- offense and defense -- and would have been one best in a very, very, very long time.

Instead learning that lesson and building on it he went back to being fat and spoiled. And resentful for the organization trying to get him to play up to his talent level by dropping all the fat. So I just don't see Mr. Bad Body ever living up to his potential.

Which is a shame. And not the Giant's problem any longer.MosesZDnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-44381628498844579342015-03-26T11:54:49.579-07:002015-03-26T11:54:49.579-07:00Isn't the blogger on Giants sites, the one who...Isn't the blogger on Giants sites, the one who wrote that the Giants farm system is a nuclear wasteland, named CHRIS QUICK? Or uses that screen name? When the name Cwik is so unusual, and the last name Quick isn't common either, and they're both sounding off on baseball, I've got to suspect they might be the same. If they are, the guy does know something about the Giants. Which doesn't, of course, keep him from the danger of being dead wrong about them.Acornnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-70951573592991215232015-03-26T11:24:21.907-07:002015-03-26T11:24:21.907-07:00For what it is worth, Pablo is hitting .233 with 1...For what it is worth, Pablo is hitting .233 with 1 HR and no walks in 30 AB's during spring training. The author only ...I think I read a similar article. The author only referenced Pablo's combined career numbers, not the fact that those number have been declining since 2011. What I find funny is that the article was dismissive of the Giants' concerns but toward the end mentioned that David Ortiz has already talked to Pablo about the importance of watching his weight. So, Ortiz being concerned about his weight is okay, but the Giants' front office's concerns are not?

I don't think it takes a genius to realize who is the bad guy in this whole situation. Wow! I guess that author has not followed Pablo's career with the Giants very closely. In fact there is a close inverse correlation between his weight and on-field performance. Yeah, this is not going to go well in Beantown.DrBGiantsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699322384438591979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-20485770891244131562015-03-25T23:12:16.205-07:002015-03-25T23:12:16.205-07:00Looks like Maxwell's starting to settle in.Looks like Maxwell's starting to settle in.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05575531277486104215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-64726264251273260502015-03-25T22:05:38.321-07:002015-03-25T22:05:38.321-07:00Some signs of life in the offense at least from pl...Some signs of life in the offense at least from players who are going to be starters.
Also, looks like Panda continues to talk about the Giants and admits it was the fact that the Giants put him on a regime for his weight that pissed him off.
