"Speaking...Saw this tidbit on a Fantaphs post:
"Speaking of high-spin curveballs, the Giants have a teenager who has a 3,000-plus RPM curveball. Julio Rodriguez, 18, sits 85-89 with natural cut and has a low-70s curveball that spins in anywhere between 2,900 and 3,100 RPM on the Trackman laptop visible at Giants AZL home games. He’s a soft-bodied 6-foot-3, 180 and has below-average present arm speed, but knowing he can spin a curveball like that makes him more interesting than the other pitchers in the AZL with 40 fastballs."
https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/daily-prospect-notes-7-2/Spike1000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-82321825716110907762018-07-02T15:53:10.369-07:002018-07-02T15:53:10.369-07:00They’re finally letting him go back to back so he ...They’re finally letting him go back to back so he can get to the bigs. This is for all MLB teams, not limited to SF Giants mind you. Black had to be beat out dozens of prospects for all teams to earn this honor.Halter Tophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04705705397281775497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-45755963369317700372018-07-02T12:40:06.758-07:002018-07-02T12:40:06.758-07:00Giants taking a HAUL of international OFers! 3 of ...Giants taking a HAUL of international OFers! 3 of the Top 20 OF prospects on the international scene, including Marco Luciano, who many well known scouts consider the best hitter in the class. Pretty nice to add to a solid draft. I don't have any data or proof, but I've always felt like the international signings come as more of a lottery - with a way higher potential for both Booms and Busts.

If even one of Luciano, Matos, and Pomeraz can make an impact at the MLB level, that is always worth it!

Andy in OCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
