You can never be sure as the rules are complex and have a lot of exceptions.DrBGiantsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699322384438591979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-63187562564980983582013-08-18T23:10:47.677-07:002013-08-18T23:10:47.677-07:00According to a prospect book I buy, Minor League B...According to a prospect book I buy, Minor League Baseball Analyst, he has a plus arm. BA notes that he's gifted SS defensively. Would be a hard choice, I would just trust the Giants to place them to maximize the defense.

Like DrB, I've liked Adrianza for a long while (I'm still his adoptive fan on MCC, I've held onto him for years now). Both for his defense as well as his good peripherals, we need to remember that he's been mostly young for the leagues he's in, plus he's ultra skinny. But he's catching up in age and adding a few pounds too (basically he and Sandoval should change eating habits...).

I think that the Giants still hope that he can become a starter, and as noted below, competition is good. I think they will keep him at SS in 2014 (age 24 season), and Crawford will be 27 next season. Could be ready for the majors by 2015 and Crawford at 28 might be starting to slow down, so a move to 2B could be the tonic. That is, if Panik doesn't beat him there first. Unfortunately, there is a loop hole too that when a player gets placed early, the team gets an extra option. If he shows that his hitting has developed during Spring Training, maybe that'll make Crawford take notice too.
