I don't think he is that far away, even though I don't expect him to regains more than a MPH or 2 in velocity. He does that with better command and he might have a chance to turn in a good season. Then the Giants will have another dilemma with whether to re-sign him or not next offseason.

I think Brown or Carbonell might have a chance. Maxwell has been slow out of the chute and the kids might be passing him up here. All those splits are extremely small sample sizes. You know just from the types of pitches he throws that he's going to be vulnerable to RH batters. Plus, as you said, the Giants would never do something like that, and with very good reason, IMO.DrBGiantsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699322384438591979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-65600624077402132372015-03-07T20:55:58.170-08:002015-03-07T20:55:58.170-08:00Hope they both have a good spring. I have major doubts that it would be considered, never mind actually happening. But Lopez is getting old and if I can find a young guy to take his place with equal results, I'd seriously consider it if I were the GM.

It's not going to happen. All those strike outs and he's still got a 9.0 ERA.
Belt: Honestly, I really thought he was breaking out last year until all the injuries side-lined him. Glad to see he's hitting well, now, though.
Machi: I like him. I also like Kontos. I personally feel that we should keep both. I think Kontos could take Lopez's spot as a lefty specialist, BUT is good enough for long-relief, too.
Arroyo: Glad to see he's been hitting and I hope this carries over when he jumps to AA this year.
MosesZDnoreply@blogger.com
