Since Bochy just said they need thirteen pitchers, someone may show up to take the place of Peavy, as soon as someone else goes on the DL. Strickland? If I recall correctly he was giving up a lot of hits to start the season last year as well( though he was able to limit the runs allowed) but he righted the ship fairly quickly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06237459270827364194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-58173988691988636982015-04-18T09:00:03.729-07:002015-04-18T09:00:03.729-07:00There's only a short list of aging guys and yo...There's only a short list of aging guys and younger guys who are NOT hurting this club. Aoki, Pagan, Duffy, Panik in the last two games but not before, old Hudson and young Heston. I think that's it. Otherwise, the pen has been unreliable, the regular lineup has been limp at the plate, and who knows what to expect from Bumgarner and Lincecum? Something must be wrong with Belt and Sanchez, though neither of them will say so, if Belt is hitting about .075 and Sanchez is striking out over a third of the time. And I agree with DrB about McGeehee. This isn't just a problem of aging guys.Acornnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7389427040394111033.post-77415993857745958902015-04-18T07:05:03.508-07:002015-04-18T07:05:03.508-07:00We are in agreement on the Susac shakeup. I would ...We are in agreement on the Susac shakeup. I would bring him to the majors ASAP, and not to be a reserve. Not sure what's going on with Belt, but he is not looking like the hitter I thought he would be this year (long season though). At this point, I'm also in favor of Duffy playing 3B every day. He's putting together some of the best AB's on the team. Like you say Doc, McGehee may well need a DL trip. Heck, Peavy too. There's no sense in getting our teeth knocked in with a thin and injured club!

I wish there was a similar shakeup that could be made to the rotation, but right now that seems pretty unlikely. Do we have any idea when (if) we might see Cain again? All I know is, the Giants would be in an even more dire place right now if not for Heston. Thankfully, the farm is not the issue right now... it's the aging guys like Peavy and Vogelsong, in my opinion, who are hurting this club.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
