Steven Duggar CF- 1 for 3, BB, SB(1).  BA= .333.
Jae-Gyun Hwang 3B- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .291.
Chris Shaw LF- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .289.

Derek Law RHP- 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, Save(9).  ERA= 2.70.

-Duggar moves up to Sacramento.
-Between Duggar, Shaw, Mac, Parker and Austin Slater, there is not shortage of internal options for OF next season.  Giants just need to have people stay healthy and get it sorted out.
-Flores has 60 K's against 19 BB in 57.2 IP for Sacramento this year.  He also keeps the ball on the ground.  Giants should try to keep him around for next season.
-Melvin Upton Jr requested and received his release from the Giants.

Daniel Carbonell LF- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(9).  BA= .257.
Tyler Herb RHP- 9 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 2.58.

-This is Herb's 4'th minor league season out of college which adds him to the list of Rule 5 eligible Giants prospects this offseason.

High A  San Jose Giants were idle.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets outlasted the Charleston River Dogs 3-2 in 11 innings:

Nick Hill CF- 2 for 4, SB(7).  BA= .204.
Jacob Gonzalez 3B- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(1).  BA= .363.

-Hard to believe this is Jacob Gonzalez' first HR of the summer league season.  Coming into this game he had 13 doubles and 1 triple, but no HR's.
-A reader reported that Heliot Ramos sent out a tweet that he is OK after getting beaned on Sunday.

  1. Master stroke -- genius! -- jumping Duggar to AAA. Avoid the jam in Richmond.
Internal options for 2018 OF: who's to play CF?
Not sure what is worse, watching Span come in on a ball, go back, or lob a throw from deep center toward a cutoff way out in center.
Parker? He has all the tools except a good natural 1st step, IMHO.
It's been a great bounce for Pence -- can he carry it forward?
But, alas, still CF? Carry Hernandez for his less than stellar, but the best the Giants have, in CF?
There is another option: Slade Heathcott.
    FREE SLADE!

  2. Duggar: If I remember right, he hit over .300 at AA last year. Really thought he'd be starting in AAA early-on, but then all those pesky injuries. Glad to see he's gotten there.
